Official Documents
The Knight Township Trustee’s Office is responsible for providing life sustaining financial and in kind assistance to the community’s residents from all walks of life who find themselves in need of temporary help.
In Knight Township, poor relief represents the largest segment of our expended resources, both human and material. State laws clearly define what public aid can be granted and the process to access those services. Services are provided through purchase orders (vouchers) for shelter (rent), utilities (gas, electric, water), food, medical, and burial.
Open Door into Local Government Finance
The Indiana Gateway for Government Units is a data collection and transparency portal supported by the State of Indiana and Indiana University and used by thousands of local government officials, academic researchers, and taxpayers. Launched in 2010, Gateway grew out of the Information for Indiana Initiative, a collaboration of the State of Indiana University to make state-collected information available to Indiana citizens.
Hundreds of local units of government, schools, state agencies, casino operators, and others submit financial and operational data via Gateway. Data submitted includes budgets, annual financial reports, employee compensation reports, debt issuances, local development agreements, TIF district summaries, and school district collective bargaining reports, among others.
